Position: Litigation Paralegal – Personal Injury (plaintiff)
Job Description:
Distasio Law Firm is a client-focused plaintiff’s personal injury law firm seeking an experienced litigation and trial paralegal to manage personal injury cases. The position is responsible for managing mostly nursing home and medical malpractice cases.
File Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare complaints, discovery requests, discovery motions, and discovery memorandums.
- Ensure all discovery propounded on a defendant is received.
- Prepare Motions.
- Assist in the preparation of client’s discovery responses.
- Scheduling and setting depositions, hearings, and mediation conferences.
- Obtain and interact with experts.
- Interact with clients, experts, defense counsel, and medical providers.
- Investigate, gather, organize, and analyze information about the client’s case.
- Read, interpret, organize, and summarize medical records, earnings, and defense documents.
- Interview witnesses.
- Prepare cases for mediation.
- Prepare cases for trial.
- Attend trial.
- Prepare closing statements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a litigation paralegal.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Organizes and prioritizes numerous tasks and completes them under time constraints while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
- Works independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexible and solution-oriented.
- Exemplary tenure with previous employers.
